About Dr. Silva

Dr. Silva is board-certified in clinical neuropsychology by the American Board of Professional Psychology (ABPP), and holds an active psychology license in California, where she also has a certification as a Qualified Medical Evaluator to perform medical-legal evaluations within the Workers’ Compensation system in California. Her areas of expertise are with traumatic brain injuries (TBI), strokes (CVA), neurodegenerative conditions/dementia, mood and anxiety disorders, posttraumatic stress disorder, and somatic symptom disorders. 

She owns and runs a group practice in San Diego, CA, that provides neuropsychological evaluations and psychological treatment services to adults. Her additional current work experiences include performing evaluations for the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), for which she is also HIMS-certified, and performing fitness-for-duty evaluations for various organizations. Her past clinical experiences have included: Working in an inpatient neuro-rehabilitation units for Sharp Healthcare, and conducting pre-surgical evaluations for bariatric patients, organ transplant candidates (liver, kidney, heart, lung), epilepsy patients, and spinal cord stimulator candidates at the University of California- San Diego, where she underwent her post-doctoral training.

She has served on boards for national and state-level neuropsychological organizations, including the California Psychological Association (past Chair of the Division of Neuropsychology), The Hispanic Neuropsychological Society (past Secretary and Member-at-Large), and the Inter Organizational Practice Committee (IOPC) task force for test security issues. She also volunteers as a sample reviewer for candidates seeking to become board-certified in neuropsychology through ABPP.

Dr. Silva is fluent in Spanish.

As a clinical psychologist who then specialized in neuropsychology, I place equal importance in evaluating both the cognitive and psychological factors that may be affecting a person.
